Dental treatment involves grinding teeth and touching the gums and the space between the teeth and gums using instruments in the mouth. As a result, the instruments may be covered with saliva or bleed. Saliva and blood can cause infection. Therefore, our clinic takes precautions such as “sterilization,” “sterilization,” and “disinfection” to prevent infection to the patient depending on the form and use of the instrument. In particular, we always sterilize (kill all microorganisms) and pack and store items used in or near the mouth.

The patient is heated in saturated steam under pressure of 120 to 135 degrees Celsius for 15 to 20 minutes to completely kill microorganisms. All instruments that enter the mouth are sterilized by high-pressure steam.
Sterilization of turbines and handpieces
Instruments that cannot be sterilized with ordinary sterilizers, such as turbines, contraptions, and handpieces (drills for cutting teeth), are sterilized using a special sterilizer.
Cleaning of visible dirt
Visible contaminants are carefully cleaned by the staff, leaving no chemicals, materials, etc. stuck to the instruments. The staff also checks the instruments before placing them in the sterilization packs.
